FAQ — About MS Walk

MS Walk is a community-driven event for people living with or affected by MS, as well as those who want to help create a world free of MS. The MS Society of Canada and the MS community come together annually across the country to build awareness for multiple sclerosis and raise funds through MS Walk.

From the time you register, to MS Walk day in May, you’ll be connected online to others across the country who care just as much about finding a cure for MS as you do. Together, we’ll share stories and cheer each other on as we strive to reach our fundraising goals! On Sunday, May 29, walk as an individual or as part of a team at one of our in-person MS Walks, or join us online for our National Live Stream Rally beginning at 12:00 ET.

How ever you choose to participate, please closely monitor information on COVID-19 as released by the Public Health Agency of Canada and your local public health authorities.

MS Walk day is Sunday, May 29!  Registered Walkers, along with their friends and family will get active in their communities and walk to show their support for Canadians impacted by MS.

You can choose to join us at one of our in-person MS Walks or participate virtually and join us online for our National Live Stream Rally beginning at 12:00 ET.

The MS community isn’t defined by virtual or in-person, it’s defined by the support and connections made by participating in MS Walk. How ever you choose to walk, know that your participation and fundraising moves us closer to a world free of MS!

For 2022, we encourage you to decide what MS Walk looks like for you. That could include walking around the block on your own, taking a stroll in your neighbourhood with members of your household, or gathering with friends and family. The MS Society of Canada does not encourage participants to solicit funds by door-to-door canvassing.

People living with MS across Canada are at the heart of everything we do. The current health crisis has impacted all Canadians, and the need for information, resources and support programs for people affected by MS is as urgent and critical as ever. The money you raise ensures that people affected by MS receive quality access and support that they need in whichever community they live in. It is our priority to ensure we support programs and services that people can access across the country – regardless of where they live. Some examples of this programming include virtual wellness, 1:1 Peer Support, and our MS Knowledge Network.
